These exotic blooms from Maui can have long vase lives with proper care. When you receive your gift box, unpack the flowers immediately. If the flowers appear wilted, they may be soaked in a bathtub of cool water for 15 minutes to re-hydrate them. After soaking, cut about 1/2 inch, or to your desired length, off the bottom of the stem and immediately place in your vase with fresh water, mixed with the commercial flower preservative included in each box.

Maintain an adequate supply of water. For best results, change the water daily to minimize bacteria buildup. Additionally, daily misting and re-cutting of the stems every five days will also increase vase life. Be sure to keep the flowers out of excessive direct sunlight, and out of heating and air-conditioning drafts, too. Remember that these are tropical flowers, so try and avoid temperatures below 60 degrees.
